When most people think of strategic planning they equate it with “another useless plan we’ll never look at again”.
I facilitate a customized range of engaging, exciting, dynamic (yes, really) strategic planning processes using SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations and Results). This is a strengths based approach to planning which leverages the organization’s successes and helps participants/stakeholders turn potential marketplace “threats” into business or marketing “opportunities”. It is also scalable in that it can engage as few or as many stakeholders as desired by the organization. The more stakeholders that are engaged, at whatever level is deemed appropriate by the organization, the more vibrant the plan.
SOAR is contrasted with SWOT, which stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. Using SOAR, stakeholders tend to think big and are freed up from over focussing on problems (“threats”), which can hinder the creative thinking that is required to move ahead in today’s marketplace.
